Electronics Recycling at ACD

Many kinds of electronics, which cannot be processed through the county’s single-stream recycling bins, can be brought to the ACD office for recycling.

​You may drop off accepted electronics anytime during our normal open hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) but please call first to let us know when you're coming: 231-533-8363 x7. 

For large items that require more than one person to carry, please bring someone to help you unload it. Thank you!

Fee Structure
We charge a small fee to help us offset the cost of electronics recycling:
$5 per item measuring <30”
$15 per item measuring >30”
TVs and monitors are measured diagonally.

We accept:
E-waste with a screen

• computer monitors
• TVs

E-waste without a screen

• laptops
• phones and cell phones
• printers
• keyboards
• cords, cables
• remote controls
• scanners, fax machines
• radios
• hard drives​

We CANNOT accept the following items:

• microwaves or other home appliances
• air conditioners, dehumidifiers, any appliances containing freon
• irons
• string lighting
• light bulbs
• lamps
